Industrial Chair R⁵BC: Reverse Logistics and Blockchain for the Construction Sector – An I²L-KryptoStone Collaboration for Optimized Materials Management.
As an engineering school, I²L is firmly committed to an approach of Social and Environmental Responsibility, reflected in a research strategy geared towards innovation in sustainability. Our aim is to rethink logistics functions to make them part of a decarbonisation process. This commitment is reflected in our collaboration with KRYPTOSTONE as part of the R ⁵DB, dedicated to Reverse Logistics & Blockchain for the construction and building sector. The Industrial Chair programme aims to promote a circular economy in the construction sector. By integrating concepts such as reverse logistics, exploiting the INIES database and adopting blockchain technology, we aim to optimise the life cycle of construction materials. This means reusing, recycling and minimising waste, while ensuring full traceability and transparency of environmental information.
This research programme of the Chair R⁵BC is in line with similar European initiatives, and envisages the adoption of digital tools and collaborative platforms to encourage a transition towards environmentally-friendly construction practices. By harnessing cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, the R ⁵BC is positioning itself as a catalyst in the transformation of building materials management, promoting greener methods and supporting the shift to a circular economy. In this way, I²L underlines its deep commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), actively working towards a more sustainable future through innovation and strategic collaboration.
